چکیده

The purpose of this study was to investigate the possible predictors success microimplant-assisted rapid palatal expansion (MARPE) in skeletally mature patients. Additionally, factors associated with amount maxillary were analyzed. Factors MARPE analyzed 53 adult patients (27 males, 26 females, mean age 25.8 ± 8.9 years, and range 18.0 56.6 years) who had a transverse deficiency greater than 2 mm cervical vertebral maturation stage 6. Age at pretreatment (T1), sex, sutural bone density T1, type appliance, mode microimplant fixation, lateral cephalometric variables T1 considered for inclusion as success. In showed successful skeletal expansion, linear distances widths measured on cone-beam-computed-tomography images after (T2), total, 41 expansion. (p = 0.019), sex 0.002), A-N perp 0.015) significantly MARPE. SN-MP midpalatal-suture T1. conclusion, there is chance failure male are older have retrusion. A can be expected higher mandibular-plane angle lower density.

Non-surgical treatment of transverse deficiency in adults using Microimplant-assisted Rapid Palatal Expansion (MARPE)

INTRODUCTION Maxillary transverse deficiency is a highly prevalent malocclusion present in all age groups, from primary to permanent dentition. If not treated on time, it can aggravate and evolve to a more complex malocclusion, hindering facial growth and development. Aside from the occlusal consequences, the deficiency can bring about serious respiratory problems as well, due to the consequent...

Aspergillosis associated with surgically assisted rapid maxillary expansion

Surgically assisted rapid palatal expansion (SARPE) is one of the most common orthognathic surgery operations for the treatment of maxillary transverse deficiencies. Although this operation is considered technically simple and has low complication rate, predisposing factors can complicate the postoperative period. In this case report, fistula formation and aspergillosis after SARPE operation we...

INTRODUCTION The aim of this prospective study was to analyze the postexpansion positional changes of the maxillary halves and their initial stability after transpalatal distraction with a bone-borne distractor and standard corticotomies of the anterior, lateral, and median bony supports of the maxilla without pterygomaxillary disjunction. METHODS The sample consisted of 21 patients (15 femal...

Interceptive treatment of palatal impaction of maxillary canines with rapid maxillary expansion: a randomized clinical trial.

INTRODUCTION Our aim in this prospective randomized clinical study was to assess the prevalence rate of eruption of palatally displaced canines, diagnosed at an early developmental stage with posteroanterior radiographs and consequently treated by rapid maxillary expansion. METHODS A sample of 60 subjects in the early mixed dentition with palatally displaced canines diagnosed on posteroanteri...
